Requirements for CRLA Master/Level III Certification
  • Minimum of ten hours of tutor training beyond Level II (30 cumulative hours)
    • Training Modes
    • Workshops/Classroom (at least 6 hours)

      Plus two or more of the following  

    • Videotapes

    • Conferences with supervisor

    • Special tutor projects

  • In addition to reviewing the topics covered in Level I and II, a minimum of four (4) of the following topics should be covered in Level III training.  The exact time spent on each may vary.

    • Types of Training

      • General Workshop – Time 4 hours – Review of  selected Levels I and II topics

        •  Modes: Interactive discussion and film.  

      • Supervisor Workshop – Time 2 hours (small group) (can be one or two workshops as needed. 

        • Mode - Interactive discussion and film.

        • Tutors complete the reading and assignments for two Training Manual topics listed below.  

        • Supervisors arrange space and time to do a small group interactive discussion about the topics for which students have done the assignments.

        • Attendance verification sheets required.

      •  Independent Study - To fulfill required hours, tutors should complete additional topics by working independently, completing the assignments, and having a conference with discipline Coordinator. (supervisor)

  • Required Tutoring Experience

    • 25 additional hours of actual tutoring time after completion of all Level II requirements (a minimum of 75 cumulative hours of actual tutoring)

      • Tutor must keep a time log and turn it in the signed document daily.

      • Tutor may check his/her weekly progress by talking with the Accounting Coordinator in the Accounting Lab

  • Tutor Selection Criteria: Met at Level I.

  • Tutor Evaluation Criteria: Continued as described in Level I.
