CGS 1100 Microcomputer Applications for Business and Economics

I am glad you are interested in taking this class.  The course will be conducted completely online using Blackboard as our classroom environment. 

TEXTBOOK:  We will be using Microsoft Office 2007 - Windows XP edition. 

This is a bundled package that includes a USB drive and a 180 day Office 2007 Trial CD:  ISBN 142832867X.  Course Technology - New Perspectives Series.

 Course Objectives: 

Word 2007		Basic understanding of word processing and Word, creating documents, editing documents, formatting text and formatting documents.
Excel 2007		Basic understanding of spreadsheet software and Excel, building and editing worksheets, formatting worksheets, designing worksheets, and building formulas.
PowerPoint 2007		Basic understanding of presentation software and PowerPoint, creating, modifying and enhancing a presentation.
Browser Basics
Access 2007		Basic understanding of relational database creation, tables, forms and updating.

This course will use Microsoft Office 2007.  You must have access to this software in order to complete the class successfully.

Assignments will be due weekly from the assigned text. There will be 3 quizzes over the material covered in the course, class discussions and a final project encompassing all the applications.
