1. Write an entry in your journal describing a "literary"
experience from the week.
2. Write a reflection for the chapter you have read.
We will meet on February 10, March 3, April 7, and May 5.
These dates may change.
Week 1 Read Chapter 1. Read Chapter 2 to the top of page 38.
2/10 Assignment 1
a. Write a reflection that includes information about
the following questions.
1. How did you learn to read?
2. After reading this chapter, what do
you think about your instruction as you
learned to read?
3. Was it effective?
4. How do you think your experiences
influence your teaching?
(Question number 3 on page 90 may help
if you need ideas.)
b. Complete the reading interview on pages 34 and 35.
Week 2 Read Chapter 2 to page 58. Read Chapter 3.

a. In your reflection, write about authentic experiences for
preschool and kindergarten children.
b. Use question 2 from page 90 to guide your literary journal
entry this week.
c. Answer question 3 on page 28.

some suggestions for home literacy events.
