In this course, students will learn how to effectively manage and complete an IT project. This includes the steps from inception to completion and critical strategies for finishing projects on time and within budget. You will investigate how to keep your team motivated, address challenges including changing business needs, budget restrictions, technical barriers, and office politics. MS Project will be used to document and complete a project of the students choice. This is a first course to help you prepare for the CompTIA’s career-advancing IT Project+ certification.

Although it is an independent study, the class will actually convene as a group four times. This course will require approximately 5ive hours of study time per week. There are two tests and MS Project assignment.

 

Prerequisite is COP 1000 and a COP* programming course. A working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is also required.
