have advanced to white belt. Then you need purchase a white Ghi

Please see instructor for further information. No modifications are
permitted to the white uniform.
- If you arrive late to class, warm-up quietly on
the sidelines by yourself. When you are sufficiently warmed-up,
stand “at attention” at the edge of the training area. When you
have attracted the teachers attention, bow. When your bow is
returned, you may step on to the training floor and join the class.
- Students, show respect for your instructors;
Tang-Soo-Do is a “martial” art. Instructors, show respect for your
students; they are in your care. Students respect your fellow
students; we are all learning together.
- Questions and talking by students during class
is discouraged. If you have a question, ask the instructor at the
end of class.
- If you believe an assistant instructor has
taught a technique improperly, privately approach the chief
instructor, politely after class. Be aware that a degree of
individually will emerge and is acceptable. Don’t be a
sharpshooter.” Be flexible.
- ATSD is a non-contact martial art. If you
accidentally strike another student, stop, stand at attention, and
bow to that student. The other student will do like wise. You may
then resume the exercise. Nothing is said.
- Classes begin and end with a formal ceremony.
Student’s line-up by rank, right to left. Subsequent rows do like
wise.
- There will be short rests between activities
during class. Stand still at “attention” or with feet slightly
apart. Breathe slowly and deeply. If you need to excuse yourself
from the group while class is being held, stop what you are doing,
stand at “attention” facing the instructor. When you have the
instructor’s attention, bow. When the bow is returned, you may
leave the training floor. You may sit or lie down if necessary. If
you need further assistance, get an instructors attention. To
rejoin the class stand at “attention” on the sidelines, when you
have attracted the instructors attention, bow. When the bow is
returned, you may rejoin the class.
- Spectators should sit attentively and quietly
at the sidelines; show respect for the Dojo-the “way place.”
- Always strive to do the best you can, but
remember you are in competition with no one but yourself. Listen to
your body; don’t harm yourself. It is wise to consult your
physician regarding appropriate exercises if there is any question.
- Show respect for your body in your habits; it
is the only one you will ever have. Be sure to get adequate rest
and drink plenty of water.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards life.
Sometimes perceived adversity will create a negative energy flow;
keep things in perspective. Each day spend time doing something for
yourself, if only for a few minutes.
- Find a hobby that is creative and adds value,
beauty and entertainment to yours and other lives.
- Be patient. Sometimes we focus to much on the
goal and too little on the process. When you achieve black belt you
may wonder what the hurry was. Live each day fully; it is its own
reward.
