COST OF TRIP

 

The cost of the trip to the student include:

 

  • Travel and Program Fee: For the 2007, 35-day Classroom Without Walls: Study Abroad Program - Cusco, Perú, Travel and Program Fee is $3,275 (about $93.57 per day).

     

    This fee will includes:

    • Round-trip group transportation from Jacksonville, Florida to Cusco, Perú;

    • U.S. airport departure/landing taxes;

    • Lodging and most daily breakfasts;

    • Ground group transportation to and from planned activities while in Perú;

    • Entrance fees to Machu Picchu Ruins, Manú Biosphere Reserve, Lake Titicaca, ruins, archeological sites.

     

    Optional 3night/4day Inka Trail Archaeological Sites: For those who opt to visit the  archaeological sites of Llaqtapata, Runkuraqay, Sayaqmarka, Inca Tunnel, Phuyupatamarka, Intipata, and Wiñawayna there will be an additional surcharge of $190.

    This will include:

    • Sleeping shelter and meals while on the trail.

    • Entrance fee to Inka Trail and Machu Picchu Ruins

     

    Deposit Payment Schedule: An initial deposit of $200 per person is required to register for the program and reserve a spot for you in the program. Full payment must be received by April 5, 2007.

    • Initial Reservation deposit/down payment      $   200

    • 1st installment due by February 23, 2007    $ 1000

    • 2nd installment due by March 16, 2007       $ 1000

    • Final installment due by April 5,2007           $ 1075 ($1265 for Inca Trail)

    • Total                                                            $ 3275 ($3465 for Inca Trail)

 

  • Meals and Tips: Unless specified as being included, meals are not included in the Travel and Program Fee. Tips to guides and hospitality staff are not included in the Travel and Program Fee. Tips are strongly encouraged.

 

  • Tuition and Books: Number of courses you will be registering for. The tuition, school fees, and course-required and optional books are separate from the Travel and Program Fee. See Study Abroad Tuition Scholarships below.

 

  • Passport Expense: Any fees incurred with the issuance, or renewal of your passport are not included in the Travel and Program Fee. Remember you passport must be valid for at least a week after the projected return to the U.S. incase any delays occur during travel.

 

  • International Student Identity Card (ISIC): Any fees incurred with the issuance, or renewal of the International Student Identity Card are not included in the Travel and Program Fee. These cards are not issued by FCCJ and are required for entry with the group to most of the sites. The International Student Identity Card provides for access to most of the sites at a student-discounted rate which the Travel and Program Fee are based on. Otherwise the student might be additionally liable for the Tourist full-rate.

 

  • Health and medications: Any fees incurred with any medical insurance, medical examination or procedure, the issuance and renewal of any medication, and vaccination against any diseases are not included in the Travel and Program Fee.

 

  • Personal Items: All items of a personal nature are not included in the Travel and Program Fee.

 

  • Souvenirs, Customs Duties, Excess Baggage: Souvenirs and gifts are not included. Any fees incurred with the transport of items beyond the allowable limits are not included in the Travel and Program Fee. All travelers should be aware of airline baggage and carry-on limits, including current US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) prohibited items. All travelers should be aware of Peruvian Customs import and export restrictions and US Customs import restrictions

 

 

Study Abroad Tuition Scholarships

 

This travel cost does not include tuition, books and fees. However, there are scholarships available to Study Abroad/Extended Studies students for tuition, books, and school fees only.

 

In order to qualify for an Study Abroad/Extended Studies Scholarship, students must:

 

  • Be a full-time student and have a minimum 2.70 all college cumulative GPA.

 

  • Must be enrolled in any one of the approved Study Abroad/Extended Studies classes.

 

  • Must have a financial aid application on file and demonstrate a financial need.

 

  • Submit a typed letter justifying your interest in the program.

 

  • Submit two letters of recommendation from instructors.
