Accomplishments

 

Accomplishments:     

·        Winning the “Tourist Trap” Invitational Forensics Tournament in 2000.  This was the school’s first invitational open division tournament win!

·        Winning the Phi Rho Pi Regional Championship in 2000

·        Placing Runner-Up in the FCCAA State Forensics Tournament in 2000 & 2001.

·        Winning 8 state championships at the 2001 FCCAA State Championship.

·        Winning State Championship Readers Theatre 3 years in a row (1999, 2000 & 2001)

·        Achieving in 2001 the all time most winning-est forensics team in the history of FCCJ (146 awards).

·        Hosting the Star Invitational Forensics Tournament four years in a row and generating a profit every year.  (Now the largest debate & individual event forensics tournament in Florida!)

·        Hosting the 2001 Phi Rho Pi National Forensics Tournament.

·        Having an 88% graduation / retention rate over the last two years.

Nationally Competitive Success:

·        Winning a Bronze Medal at the 2002 Phi Rho Pi National Forensics Tournament in Limited Entry Individual Events Sweepstakes.  Making FCCJ 6th in the nation in Limited Entry Individual Events! 

·       2002 Phi Rho Pi National Impromptu Speaking Gold Medal (Dale Thomas)

·     2001 Phi Rho Pi National Lincoln Debate Gold Medal (Charles Evans)

·        2001 Phi Rho Pi National Limited Entry Debate Sweepstakes Bronze Medal

·        2000 Phi Rho Pi National Limited Entry Individual Events Sweepstakes Bronze Medal (6th in Nation)

·        2000 Phi Rho Pi National Impromptu Speaking Gold Medal (Jason Griffis)

·        2000 Phi Rho Pi National Informative Speaking Gold Medal (Nick Martino)

·        1999 Phi Rho Pi National  Persuasive Speaking Gold Medal (Matthew Sanchez )                  

·        1997 Phi Rho Pi National Parliamentary Debate Gold Medal Award  (Emily Butler & Deanna Hedrick)

·        13 bronze medals and 2 silver medals over the last seven years
