This computer based career exploration course will provide an overview of the career planning process and introduce you to a variety of online sources of career assessment and information.  Please review the syllabus for further information about the course.

Course Description
Course title: Special Topics in Student Life Skills:  Career Exploration and Career Choice
Course number: SLS 1931
Course description: This course provides a computer based information-gathering process appropriate for students who have not decided on a career choice or who need assistance clarifying a current career choice. Topics will include work related interests, clarification of work related values, and identification of work related skills and abilities. Various online computer based career exploration activities are required

Course Objectives
Objectives:  
  At the completion of the course the student will: be knowledgeable about his/her work related values; have an understanding of his/her preferred interests, temperaments,skills, and relate these variables to career choice; have researched various careers in relationship to the information learned through this course
Course Procedure
  This course will consist of online, internet based career assessments, occupational information, and individual assignments.

Assignment Five: MBTI/Humanmetrics Personal Preference Inventory

Grading System
  This course is graded on a point basis. Points will be assigned for each exercise. Final grades will be based on the total number of points earned. Grades will be assigned as follows: A=225-250pts, B=175-224 pts, C=125-174 pts, D=75-124 pts, F=0-74pts.
