A Crying Soul
Alison Schofield
My heart
Is bleeding tears,
Falling
Like rain,
But never
On the outside,
They sit on the rim
Of my eyes,
Clouding my vision,
Waiting
For release,
I try to wipe them
Away,
But more come
To fill their place,
They do not help
The emptiness,
And the longing,
So I close my eyes,
Hoping
They will go away
By force alone,
Setting up
Dams and floodgates
Within my emotions,
Forgetting the pain
That has scorch my soul,
And still
The tears bleed
In my soul’s domain,
To clean
The scars away.
