     This site has free animations.  It has a frequently asked question page about downloading animations and how to use them.

     One subtopic of this site was backgrounds.  They have many backgrounds which are organized by color scheme.

     Well organized site with graphics broken down by subject matter as well as type of media.

     A web search engine for graphics.
5.  http://www.yahright.com/
     Excellent search engine for graphics with intuitive categories.
6.  http://members.tripod.com/~etkatluv/Globes.html
     Ready made snow globes.  Some are really nice.
7.  http://www.clipartconnection.com/
     Lots of easy to navigate to clip art and animations.  The purple font  on dark green  background is difficult to read.
8.  http://www.clipart.com/
     Easy to use site with links to other sources of clipart.

Below are some sites that I have found to be useful resources:

    An unbiased report and guide to the essentials of web site design & web site     development, web hosting, web site promotion & web site maintenance.  It  has an internal search engine as well as many links.
2.  http://www.lynda.com/
     The web site  by the author of our book.  Interesting information on color; also order information and good links.
3.  http://www.sitepoint.com/
    Tutorials about different features of web design such as navigation hints.
4.  http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/multimedia/index.html
    I am interested in developing multimedia for course use and this has tutorials
    on the development of multimedia for web design.
5.  http://webdesign.about.com/compute/webdesign/mbody.htm
     This web design has tutorials, a chat room, articles and a free newsletter.  It also has an internal search engine.  It was referenced on several sites that I visited and is very complete.
6.  http://www.outfront.net/newlsetters/newsletter.htm
     A newsletter with articles and tips pertaining to FrontPage. Useful Information.
7.  http://www.microsoft.com/frontpage/
     Of course the primary source is always good for information.
8.  http://www.webmasterslibrary.com
     Source of articles dealing with a variety of website issues.  I found the article on advertising  banners interesting.

     This site has Java Scripts for various effects to add to your web page.

      Java Applets for special effects such as cube with photos.

     Free Java Applets, the ripples effects and rollovers

     Excellent site with many tutorials for various elements of design

     To the point site about "Who owns the copyright in your web site?"

      Free web tools for webmasters;  counters, buttons, etc along with a changing joke of the day

      This site has a lot of tutorials and links to other sites.  Useful resource.

      Lots of easy to navigate to clip art and animations.  The purple font  on dark green  background is difficult to read.

      I added this site to the web design side since she had some mini tutorials on how to create special effects.  She has some elegant free graphics also.
18. http://ann-s-thesia.com/webgraphics.htm
      Interesting site with a few exotic themes free.  Her site is an interesting example of some of the  legalities in using free clipart
